No. We will not be using yoga mats because we do not stay in one place or do Yoga postures. We move about the space in a group setting. Laughter Yoga can also be done seated in chairs if that is more comfortable for participants.
Wear comfortable clothing that you would wear to an exercise or a dance class. There may be movement that requires sitting or lying on the floor. The key word is "breathable".
One form of Yogic breathing is to exhale two times as long as you inhale to expel more air and make more space for fresh oxygen. The laughter exercieses allow us to do this. To reap the benefits of laughter, laughter has to be hearty and deep coming from the diaphram.
The what, why, and how of Laughter Yoga will be explained at the start of every class. You will be taught each exercise before having to practice it as a group. These are simple, silly, and fun exercises that promote laughter with others.
Yes! This practice is wonderful for ages 5 to 500. It exercises the lungs and our lungs want to be exercised. MegO will adapt the exercises for any age group so it feels good for everyone who wants to practice.
